Did You Know Reba McEntire Wanted To Play Basketball?

Standing 5'7", Reba McEntire might not be a standout when it comes to the basketball court, but she was a serious basketball player as a young girl.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Reba shared how her dream career went from shooting hoops and throwing ropes to singing country music.

"I am very grateful for what I get to do. I wake up in the morning, just a happy camper!" says Reba confirming that she is living her dream.

"What's your earliest memory of country music?" asks Cody.

"Forever. I have always loved to sing. That's the only time I really got good attention," laughs the "Fancy" singer. "Daddy used to ask me, "Reba, why do you always want to do something you are not really good at?" I am like, "Hm. Let me think about that for a second?"

"But, I always wanted to be a rodeo cowgirl, a basketball player," Reba shares. "But, the one thing I could do pretty was, was sing. It came too easy, I guess? I had to work at rodeo. I had to work at basketball. So, it was more fun to proactive basketball and rodeo than singing."

Reba fans agree that she made the right choice.
