What a year...back in 1976. The Nation's 200th birthday! I was a strapping young 13 year old boy with a half Beagle/half Boston Terrier dog, a large handled comb in my back pocket, a red t-shirt with matching red socks, some green Converse Chuck Taylors and a bicycle I got when I was 5 for being brave at the dentist's office. Oh the chrome wheels had long since rusted beyond the help of naval jelly but I did add some cool handle bars I bought at Western Auto downtown and a Bicentennial-themed banana seat I picked up at Roses. I had already been a janitor for a year and I was making extra money mowing yards and babysitting. If those were hard times...I was too happy to notice!
